Test wicket-keeper Wriddhiman Saha selected for Australia tourWriddhiman saha) Has a hamstring strain that could not land him in the Indian Premier League qualifiers for Sunrisers Hyderabad. That is why Saha, who was out of the team in the Eliminator match, will have to see what attitude the Indian Cricket Board takes.

Saha’s availability for the tour to Australia will depend on how top BCCI officials assess him after IPL franchisees questioned the medical report of team physio Nitin Patel regarding injury to some senior players. “Saha has a hamstring injury,” Warner said during the toss before the second qualifier match against Delhi Capitals.

However, the seriousness of his injury is not known yet. Saha suffered this injury during the team’s 13th match against Delhi Capitals. He, however, came on the ground for the last league match against Mumbai Indians despite being injured. It is revealed that Saha has a grade one injury which takes four weeks to recover.

If this is the case, he will be likely to travel to Australia with the team for the Test series starting on 17 December. If his injury is of grade two level, it may take two months to recover from this, in this case he can be out of the tour. Although Rishabh Pant and Sanju Samson have two specialist wicket-keepers in the team, the team may not need another wicket-keeper. The Indian team prefers to field with Pant overseas to bolster the batting, while Saha is the first choice in the challenging domestic Test for wicketkeeping.
