The Women’s IPL tournament, hosted by the UAE, ended on Monday night under the name Women’s T20 Challenge. Smriti Mandhana captained the Trail Blazers in Sharjah and Harmanpreet Kaur captained the Supernovas in the final. The Trial Blazers, who showed fighting spirit till the end, won by 16 runs and kissed the title for the first time. Among the supernovas bowlers, Radha Yadav took five wickets while Poonam Yadav and Siriwardene took one wicket each.

The Super Novas suffered a tough early setback in the 119-run innings. Super form opener Chamari Atapattu (6) was out in the second over. Another opener Jemima (13) was also disappointed. Captain Harman à°¹Preet Kaur (2×4 off 30:36 balls) played fairly consistently at this stage. Tania Bhatia (14), Siriwardene (19), Anju Patil (8) and Pooja Yadav (0) emerged.
