Team India fight in Sydney .. Third Test draw with Australia

The third Test between India and Australia ended in a draw in Sydney on Monday. Team India, who played aggressively till the second session today in chasing the target of 407 runs, gave high priority to maintaining wickets in the last session. With that .. Australia agreed to Drake with one over left as there was no chance of a match result as India stood at 334/5. In the last session, Telugu cricketers Hanuma Vihari (23 not out: 4×4 off 161 balls) and Ashwin (39 not out: 7×4 off 128 balls) showed great fighting spirit. The four-Test series is currently tied at 1-1. The final Test will be played in Brisbane from the 19th of this month.

Rishabh Pant (12×4, 3×6 off 97: 118 balls) played an equal innings while Chateshwar Pujara (12×4 off 77:205 balls) scored a valuable half-century. With the Pujara-Pant duo setting up a 148-run partnership for the fourth wicket, Team India looked to do wonders in the innings. But .. Pant was out at 250 for the team score .. Pujara took the wicket at 272. With that .. from there the Indian struggle for a draw began. Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari showed great perseverance and continued batting till the end without giving a wicket to Australia. Steve Smith, who scored 131 in the first innings and 81 in the second innings, was named Man of the Match. India batted a total of 131 overs in the fourth innings. No Asian team played so many overs in the fourth innings on Australian soil.

In this Test which started on Thursday .. Australia scored 338 in the first innings .. India were all out for 244 in the first innings. With that .. Australia played the second innings with a lead of 94 runs and declared the innings with 312/6 to put India ahead of the 407-run target.
