Rohit is not playing in the IPL right now but he is expected to return to the last league match. Rohit is working hard to regain fitness and return to the field.
Sources closely observing the matter say, ‘He is training regularly. After the match against Kings XI Punjab, the next day was a rest day, so there was no practice. But whenever the Mumbai team has practiced, he has been present in the nets. Actually, he also did throwdowns in the nets before the last match. He is of course working hard to achieve full fitness.
Rohit suffered a hamstring injury in the match against Kings XI Punjab on October 18. After this, the team won by 10 wickets against Chennai Super Kings and then Rajasthan Royals defeated them by 8 wickets in Sharjah. On Wednesday, the team won against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai Indians have almost confirmed their place in the playoffs by defeating Bangalore. The team has 16 points. But the selectors are facing a lot of criticism for not including Rohit’s name for the tour of Australia starting on 27 November.
According to some reports, Indian cricket team physio Nitin Patel told the selection committee headed by Sunil Joshi that Rohit will take 2-3 weeks to get fit. After this, the selection committee decided not to include Rohit and told that BCCI’s medical team is keeping an eye on his injury.
Some people are also surprised that Rohit has already completed 10 of the 21 days he was talking about physio.
