The first qualifier will be played today in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020. The match will be played between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the Dubai International Stadium.

Mumbai Indians made their IPL debut in the match against Chennai Super Kings. He had to face defeat in this match. Last year’s champions team performed brilliantly after that and clinched the playoffs by winning nine of their next 13 matches. The team finished first in the points table.

Mumbai Indians regular captain Rohit Sharma was ruled out for a few matches in the tournament due to injury. However Rohit made a comeback in the last league match played against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Mumbai lost the match by 10 wickets.

On the other hand, if we talk about Delhi Capitals, then the season has been very volatile for him. Shreyas Iyer’s team won the match by winning seven of their initial 9 matches. The team had to win just one more match for the playoffs. However, his journey started derailing from here. He lost in four consecutive matches. The team defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last league match to finish second in the points table. On Thursday, he would aim to win the first qualifier and win the final against Mumbai Indians.

This will be the third time in the tournament when these two teams will face each other.

In the first match, Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by five wickets. Half-centuries were scored by Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav. The second match was completely one sided when Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult broke the batting of Delhi batting with three wickets each. After this, Ishan Kishan played the unbeaten innings of 72 runs and won the team by 9 wickets.

However, Delhi Capitals would like to get confident in their win against Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last match. He will try to prevent Mumbai from scoring a hat-trick of victories.

Fast bowling has power
Mumbai had rested Trent Boult and Jasprit Bumrah in their last league match against Hyderabad. But they are sure to land in the match against Delhi. These two have taken 43 wickets in the season. Apart from this, both took three wickets in their last match against Delhi. If Mumbai has to reach the final, then both these bowlers will have to show their skills once again.

Delhi is no less
If Mumbai have Bumrah and Bolt, then Delhi have a pair of Kagiso Rabada and Enrich Nortje. The pair of South African fast bowlers have taken 44 wickets in 14 matches.

Rabada did not get any wickets in the previous matches against Hyderabad and Mumbai. He again captured the Purple Cap by taking two wickets against Bangalore. At the same time, Nortje had taken three wickets in the last league match. He had 19 wickets at the league stage.

Batting strength
Mumbai has many strong batsmen. Rohit may not have played the game according to his image, but the bat of Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya and Kairan Pollard have spoken a lot.

Shikhar Dhawan’s bat is very telling near Delhi. Dhawan showed his form by scoring two consecutive centuries in the season. Delhi’s problem is the form of Rishabh Pant. Ajinkya Rahane performed well against Bangalore and played an important role in helping his team win. This Mumbaikar will also have to show his skills against Mumbai.
