IPL: Sehwag raised questions on Virat Kohli’s strike rate, said – Team RCB gets in trouble

On Virat’s strike rate, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag questioned that because of this, the team RCB has been in trouble.

Virat’s team RCB has made it to the playoffs in the 13th season and will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the eliminator. Kohli has scored 460 runs in 14 matches this season so far and his strike rate has been over 122.

Regarding Kohli, who has scored 5 centuries and 39 half-centuries in his IPL career so far, Sehwag told ‘Cricbuzz’, ‘He (Virat) needs to change his gear quickly. He takes 20-25 balls for this and when out, the team is in trouble.

Sehwag further said, “This is what happened in the league match against Delhi Capitals, if Virat was not out, he would have played 70 or 80 runs in 40 balls, which would have led RCB team to a respectable score.” When he was out, his strike rate was just 110-120, which cannot be called special and after which RCB team was in trouble.

Playing under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, the team has suffered consecutive defeats in their last four matches. The team also lost in their last match against Delhi Capitals but qualified for the playoffs with 14 points.

Talking about Kohli’s IPL career, he has scored 5872 runs in 191 matches so far. He has 5 centuries and 39 half-centuries to his name. He has so far hit 503 fours and 201 sixes.
