England’s next year’s tour of India will undergo four Tests instead of the regular five to include a limited-overs series which was postponed earlier this year due to the Kovid-19 pandemic. Cricket Board of India (BCCI) President Saurabh Ganguly, while speaking at an online event, confirmed the schedule of the series to be held in February-March.

“England are touring India for four Test matches, three ODIs and five T20s, it is quite easy to do a bilateral series because it has less number of people,” he said. He said, ‘When it has eight teams, nine teams, 10 teams, it becomes more difficult. We have to keep assessing the situation because a lot of people are talking about another ‘wave’.

The limited-overs series included the first three T20s and the same number of ODIs to be held in September this year but was postponed due to an epidemic. The revised schedule has increased the number of T20 matches. The board has done this keeping in mind the World T20 to be held in India in October-November next year.
