Australia’s experienced spinner Nathan Lyon Believes that the host team is not in a position of advantage even after the injury of many players before the fourth Test.

Lion said in a virtual press conference on Wednesday, ‘I would not say that Australia is in a position of advantage. India are missing some big players but they have a very talented team.

India will have to come up with a second-rate bowling attack due to the injury of fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and spin bowler all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

Lion said, ‘We should worry about our preparation. There is no need to think about them. Gaba’s pitch is compatible with our bowling and hopefully we will be able to do well.

Australia won 33 of the 55 Tests at this ground, played 13 draws and lost eight while one match was tied. Lion said, ‘We have a great record here. The team is full of confidence and we know how to play positive cricket. But you cannot just trust him. We know how talented the Indian team is and also eager to win the series.

Defending Steve Smith, who was facing criticism for Rishabh Pant’s attempt to erase the batting guard, he said, “I am really sad the way everyone is targeting him.” He has won around 80 Tests and has been doing so in every Test. He said, ‘We didn’t have to bat further in that Test but he was still thinking about batting. He has been doing the same to help me. He was looking at where I had to put the ball and what speed should it be.
