According to the report of Cricbuzz, the board has informed the potential broadcaster that from next year, IPL matches will be started from 8 pm and afternoon matches from 4 pm. At the same time, the BCCI also said that it will try not to have too many double header matches in the 16th season.

Till now the matches in IPL start at 3:30 in the afternoon and at 7:30 in the evening. The toss is held at 3 o’clock for the afternoon matches and 7 o’clock for the night match. There are 12 double header matches to be played in the current season. The Board of Control for Cricket in India issued a release for interested parties to bid for the league’s television and digital rights for 2023-27, ie five years. The board said in it, "The matches of IPL starting from the next season will start at 4 pm and 8 pm Indian time."
