The next ODI will be a three-match ODI series between the two teams. The team is the focus of the world. The reason is that this team will be the Indian team for the T20 World Cup series which starts in Australia at the end of October. Ganguly had said that without any change after that, those players would be given a chance as regulars.
Thus, the team selection for the England White Ball Series has become important.
In this context, the BCCI selectors met yesterday to select the team. It was then reported that the players on the farm were first talked about. Accordingly, only the names of Jaspreet Bhumra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Hardik Pandya were finalized.
Form Out Players:
BCCI officials have discussed the fact that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Bandh, Sahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Aswin and Jadeja have not yet proved themselves. It has also been reported that executives, including Ganguly, have recommended to the selectors that the team be swayed by last year’s selection and build a strong team that will not go mad with the league round again.
Thus, even if the players included in the England series do not prove their prowess in a match, even if it is a senior player, it is considered difficult to feature in the T20 World Cup XI squad.
In particular, Dinesh Karthik is likely to be included in the Rishabh Bandh squad. It has also been reported that Ishan Kishan, along with Rohit Sharma, has been consulted on fielding the openers in the right-left combination.
The team selection meeting for the England series is said to be held today and tomorrow.
