Batting coach Vikram Rathour on Sunday said Wriddhiman Saha is the “ideal team” player who can always be relied upon for “tough jobs” but it is unfortunate that he has to play the role only in the absence of India’s number one wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. Batting coach Rathod said on questions about the veteran wicketkeeper, “He had a tightness in his neck and knowing that he is a perfect team player, he will do what is needed.”
“He would do difficult things for the team and the position the team was in at the time, he played a very important innings,” he said.

“We always expect the same from him,” he said. He has always been someone we can trust and today he has shown why.
“As far as he is concerned, unfortunately we have a very special player, Rishabh who is our number one wicketkeeper and he has done exceptionally well for us over the years,” Rathod said.
“His role (at number two) is that when Pant is not available, then only we will need him,” he said.
