If you want to reach the final, you have to get it

The prestigious Border Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia is going to start in four days. Expectations for this four-Test series are already getting high. The Aussies, who have lost the last two times, are looking to damage India in any way this time. But if we keep in mind the World Test Championship… this series is more important for us than Australia. If we want to reach the final, we have to win in this series.

After the recent series victory over Bangladesh, Team India is currently in the second position with a percentage of 58.93 points. Regardless of other results, India need to win against Australia by 4-0 or 3-1 to reach the final. If that is done then India will reach the percentage of 68.06 points or 62.5 points. If Team India ties the series 2-2 and Sri Lanka wins 2-0 against New Zealand, then India will not go to the final. If India wins the series with a margin other than 4-0 or 3-1, then… At least in the Sri Lanka-New Zealand series. We can go to the finals only if we draw even one match. As you know in the World Test Championship… 12 points for a win, 6 points for a tie and 4 points for a draw. So even if any match in the series with Australia is drawn, Team India will get points. There is a chance of improvement in points percentage. Just don’t lose.
