Liam Livingstone made his half-century in 17 balls. He missed a ball or else he would have equaled AB de Villiers’ record for the fastest fifty in ODI history. However, he became the fastest English batsman to score a half-century. Buttler scored a century in 47 balls, which was the second fastest century for England. He played an unbeaten innings of 162 runs in which 14 of the team’s 26 sixes were hit.

Butler now has the three fastest ODI centuries for the national team, scoring hundreds in 46 balls, 47 balls and 50 balls. Salt scored 122 runs in 93 balls and Malan made 125 runs in 109 balls while Liam Livingstone made an unbeaten 66 off 22 balls. The Netherlands is playing an ODI against England for the first time outside the Cricket World Cup. Eoin Morgan was out for zero.
