Rajkot police has for the second time nabbed a scam involving fake degree certificates and fake marksheets. Dharmishtha, a young woman and two young men have been arrested out of the eight persons currently involved in the scam. According to police, the men were identified as Dr. Agra. Bhimrao was making fake degrees and fake marksheets of Ambedkar University, William Carey University as well as Uttar Pradesh and Allahabad University. The men told police that they were approached by people seeking PR abroad. Since the marks of a post graduate were considered more important than those of a graduate to go abroad, those who wanted to go abroad used to take fake degree certificates and fake marksheets from them at exorbitant prices.
According to police, a young woman named Dharmishtha was getting fake degree certificates and fake marksheets from her Facebook friend Prakash Yadav. Dharmishtha told police that Prakash Yadav lives in Delhi. According to police, Dharmishtha confessed that he had been in the business for the last one year or so. He was earlier booked at the Naded police station for forging a degree.
In another gang, a man by the name of Paras Vania used to make fake marksheets and fake degree certificates with an amount of Rs 70,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Paras was giving this fake marksheet and fake certificate to a person named Darshan Kotak who lives in Vastral area of Ahmedabad. Darshan acts as an agent to send people abroad. Rajkot police is currently investigating the matter.
