Both men, who came in contact with the elderly man on Sunday, were found to be coronary positive. And they too have been admitted to the isolation ward of GG Hospital on suspicion of being infected with the Omicron variant.
The old man’s wife and brother-in-law Corona’s report came back positive
The 72-year-old returned from Zimbabwe on November 28 and on Saturday he was found to be positive by the Omicron variant of the Corona. Other family members of the elderly were tested last week but came back negative. However, 9 persons who came in contact with the elderly were re-tested after being infected with the omicron. The 45-year-old wife of the old man who also returned from Zimbabwe, and the 35-year-old brother-in-law of the old man living in Jamnagar who went to Ahmedabad airport to pick up the couple, have reported positive corona.
Both individuals were kept in isolation
“They are close relatives of the positive patient of Omicron variant and we suspected that they too may be infected with Omicron variant,” said Vijay Kharadi, Municipal Commissioner, Jamnagar. After which we sent their samples for genome sequencing.
Currently both patients are asymptomatic, and other relatives of the patient are also kept under observation, and they are kept within isolation. In addition, the entire area has been declared a micro containment zone.
