Corona: Omicron’s entry in Gujarat, first case reported in Jamnagar

Jamnagar: Now a new variant of Corona virus Omicron has entered Gujarat. The first case of Omicron, a new variant of Corona virus, has been reported in Jamnagar in the state. It is to be noted here that the 72-year-old man who came to Jamnagar from Zimbabwe, South Africa, on December 2, Corona’s report came positive. Samples were sent to Poona lab showing omikron’s suspicious feature. Today, the old man’s omicon report has come positive. Samples of 72-year-old Corona’s positive aging were sent to a laboratory in Poona for testing for genome sequencing. The report came within 72 hours. Their report confirms that the coronavirus is an amicron variant.

It is noteworthy that the whole world is in tension with the new variant of Corona virus, Omicron. The new variant Omicron was first identified in South Africa. The form of the omicron corona virus is very different in this respect as it is by far the most modified form of SARS-CoV-2. There are a total of 53 mutations in its genetic makeup and 32 mutations on spike proteins. The spike protein is a protruding tumor of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that helps the virus to attach to cells so that it can enter it. More mutations in the omicron mean that this is more contagious or better then immune protection, all of these speculations are more worrying.

Research has also shown that patients infected with the delta form have a higher risk of hospitalization compared to the original and early forms of SARS-CoV-2. So will Omicron replace Delta? But it is too early to say that Omicron is more powerful than Delta. Omicron has some mutations in delta form but it also has other mutations which are quite different. Also, there is a strong possibility that the omicron form is not the final form of SARS-CoV-2 and that it may have more forms, as well as coronavirus forms that are even more contagious than Delta!

The Chief Secretary, who was registering the first case of Omicron variant in Gujarat, had called a review meeting with Jamnagar Collector and health officials and the Chief Minister has also called an immediate review meeting. Also, people coming to the city from abroad are being tested for corona. They are tested and quarantined. The latter is carried out as per the report.
