Mehek became Kota’s fourth international boxer
Prior to Mehak, Arundhati Chowdhary, Nisha and Isha Gurjar have represented India in international boxing competitions. Significantly, Arundhati Chowdhary had increased the honor of Kota by getting gold medal in the World Championship in 2021.
This is how Mehak’s boxing journey began
Mehak started his boxing career at Mahabali Sports Academy from 2 January 2018 under the supervision of Coach Ashok Gautam. Mehak, a resident of Sita village, is the eldest daughter of the family. Mehak’s elder sister Anjali and younger brother Rishi used to go to coach Ashok Gautam to learn wushu. One day Ashok Gautam went to Anjali’s house for some work. There Anjali’s father Ramavatar Sharma made her meet Mehak’s father Ashok Sharma and Mehak.
Go to the stadium by riding your own bike
Seeing the length of Mehak in future, Gautam told his father to start sending it to the stadium, it is a good length. Will make a good name in the game. Since then Mehak started going to Nayapura Stadium for practice from his village. Mehak practices daily for 6 hours and comes to the stadium morning and evening by herself riding a bike.
Mehak’s sister Anjali was also an athlete
Mehak’s sister Anjali has participated in national competition 4 times and won medals 2 times. Mehak has also won medals at the national level in Wushu. Congratulating coach Ashok Gautam, like Arundhati, he has hoped to increase the respect of Kota by repeating the history of 2021.
