Modi himself engaged in persuasion
The management of fighting elections with full force from top to bottom has been a major reason for BJP’s success in recent years. Before the elections in Himachal Pradesh, the audio of PM Modi himself calling a rebel leader went viral. Even though the opposition raised questions on this, but according to the party leaders, its effect was positive and the message went that when PM Modi himself is making contact with every leader in this way, then others will also have to take it seriously. Even in the Gujarat assembly elections, PM Modi himself engaged in persuading the rebel and angry leaders. Last days, after a long road show in Surat, he stayed there for a few hours and personally talked to all the angry leaders around and persuaded them. This brought renewed enthusiasm within the party.
the calm before the storm
Before the Bharat Jodo Yatra entered Rajasthan, the Congress succeeded in brokering a ceasefire between Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot. A picture of both of them together was also presented, in which KC Venugopal is standing in the middle in the style of declaring a ceasefire between the two. Before the visit, Venugopal came to take stock of the preparations, but it is believed that the preparations had to be done only to stop the tussle between Pilot and Gehlot. The meeting went on for three hours and finally there was a relief news for Yatra and Rahul Gandhi. But the matter did not end here. Those close to both the leaders are telling that this is just the calm before the storm. However, both the leaders agreed to a ceasefire with the assurance and promise that the Bharat Jodo Yatra from Rajasthan would pass off with fanfare, then the results of the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly elections would also come, after which a decisive decision would be taken on the state leadership. Both sides are no longer ready to tolerate any delay in the decision related to it for a long time. Leaders close to Gehlot and Pilot say that the high command will be clearly told that now a blunt decision will have to be taken. It is obvious that the first big test awaits Kharge, the new President of the party, only after the Bharat Jodo Yatra and the election results.
Opposition unity in December
Recently, Shiv Sena Thackeray faction leader Aditya Thackeray went to Patna. There he met Tejashwi Yadav and Nitish Kumar. Addressing the media after the meeting, both the sides described the meeting as normal and said that they discussed strengthening the opposition. But according to the kind of discussions coming out from the opposition camp, after the results of the Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat assembly elections, the initiative for opposition unity will get a fresh boost. It is being told that a big meeting can also be held for this, in which Nitish Kumar, Tejashwi Yadav and Uddhav Thackeray can play an important role. It is believed that Aditya Thackeray had reached Patna to take stock of the preparations before this meeting. At the same time, people close to Nitish are saying that for this meeting Hemant Soren, opposition leaders of North East and many other leaders are also being contacted continuously. Nitish Kumar has given the responsibility to one of his close leaders to establish contact and reconciliation between Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav in Uttar Pradesh before 2024. It is believed that after December 8, a boom can be seen in this initiative.
what was discussed over tea
The market of speculation is hot about a discussion over tea in West Bengal. State CM and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee met BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari over tea last week. There were very few people in this meeting. Since then, uneasiness is also being seen within the BJP regarding this. Shubhendu Adhikari defeated Mamta Banerjee in the state assembly elections. However, he was once considered very close to Mamta and had joined BJP just before the elections. Since then he has emerged as the face of BJP in the state. Many BJP leaders have already joined TMC after TMC’s victory in the elections. However, both sides termed the meeting as a common courtesy and argued that in every assembly session there has been such a discussion over tea in which people from both sides and the opposition live. But the kind of tension that had come to the fore between Mamta and Shubhendu for some time now seems to be softening in it. Now in which direction this discussion on tea will turn further, only time will tell. However, worried about this, the BJP has already started trying to preserve the strongest face of the party in the state before the 2024 general elections and the top leadership talked to Shubhendu in detail. The BJP knows that if he too returns home, the party could be in serious trouble.
