Pune municipal corporation elections 2022: NCP to go to court in Pune against four-member Prabhagarcha

Pune municipal corporation elections 2022: Pune municipal corporation  elections are on the horizon and in it the Shinde government has once again shocked the Mahavikas Aghadi government by changing the decision of the ward structure. A three-member ward structure was created for the upcoming  elections. It has been decided to change that ward structure to a four-member ward structure. The NCP in Pune has taken an aggressive stand against it. Next Monday NCP is going to rush to the court and file a petition.

80 percent of the election process has been completed. The three-member composition has also been finalised. However, BJP has now created a four-member structure for its benefit. NCP city president Prashant Jagtap has expressed the opinion that while all the work for the upcoming elections has been done, time is being wasted by taking this decision. He has made it clear that the NCP will approach the court to cancel this decision of the government. The Election Commission has completed the work of preparing the draft, hearing objections and suggestions, and publishing the voter lists, and now only the dates of the elections are to be announced. In that case, the NCP had made it clear that it would remain opposed to changing the entire plan. Accordingly, the NCP will now approach the court.

As soon as there was a change of power in the state, there was a demand from the BJP leaders to change the three-member ward structure created during the previous government for the upcoming municipal elections. On the other hand, the Mahavikas Aghadi had given a warning to go to court if the ward structure plan is changed. The demand of BJP leaders was accepted. Therefore, after the power of the state, political parties will see a fight to gain control over the municipalities.
