Pune Child Sexual Abuse Case: A special court today sentenced senior IAS officer Maruti Sawant to five years imprisonment for raping a 13-year-old girl and molesting three other girls. This was revealed in the month of March. The headmistress had filed a complaint at the Sinhagad police station regarding this incident. After the incident came to light, the Maharashtra Council of Agricultural Education and Research (MCAER), a 1998 batch promoted IAS officer, Pune was appointed as Director General. An FIR was registered in March 2015 at the Sinhagad police station. Then he Maharashtra was suspended by the state government. After that, the police supervised the investigation.

Headmistress lodged a complaint
The headmistress of that school filed a complaint on the assumption that the girl had been abused. A complaint was filed against the police in Sinhagadrade police station. The school had counseling hours for girls’ mental health and information for girls. Women counselors were appointed for this. At that time, this whole matter had come to the fore.

They used to show the bait of chocolate
After this situation came to light during the counselling, it came to know that they used to show the bait of chocolate. ARP Maruti Sawant used to molest girls at his flat with the lure of making them eat chocolate. The girl used to show porn movies on the computer. Photos were also shown. This type started for three years. An atmosphere of outrage was created after the three-year affair was revealed.

The public has many expectations from the authorities. There are safety expectations. But many times officials from different fields are found doing this kind of chala. But when such cases come to the fore, the safety of their child becomes a big problem for the parents. So the question of who exactly to trust remains unanswered.
