Hinjawadi-Shivaji Nagar metro: After the appointment of new guardian minister, the problem of traffic jam at Vidyapeeth Chowk will be solved

Hinjawadi Shivaji Nagar Metro: The work of the flyover at Savitribai Phule Pune Vidyapeeth Chowk (Sppu) will start along with the work of Hinjawadi-Shivaji Nagar metro. Due to this construction, the traffic congestion in this area will increase. Therefore, the new Guardian Minister of Pune district has been asked to provide flyovers and subways  It was decided that the work should be started only after their consent after showing how it will be built. The city is now waiting for the announcement of the guardian minister of Pune in the new government.

A joint meeting of various departments of Pune Municipal Corporation, Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and Traffic Police was held yesterday to review the ongoing metro and other works on Ganeshkhind road. Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, PMRDA Commissioner Suhas Diwase, PMC Additional Commissioner Dr Kunal Khemnar and other officials were present.

Pune University flyover and subway will be constructed to reduce traffic congestion at Vidyapith Chowk. Metro work will also be done in this square soon. The Municipal Corporation has prepared a plan of 400 crores for the traffic on Ganeshkhind road, but this work will be done by PMRDA. This work includes double-decker flyover at Vidyapeeth Chowk (268 crores), Shivajinagar-Aundh subway (68 crores), Baner-Pashan (25 crores), Hare Krishna Temple subway (15 crores), Abhimanashree Chowk subway (40 crores). .

Metro work is going to be completed by PMRD in next three years, so these projects on Ganeshkhind road will be completed in the same period. It was decided to start this work in the meeting called today. Traffic congestion will increase on Ganeshkhind road after the work starts. Planning is required to introduce alternative transport routes. Pedestrian paths and cycle paths will also have to be built. Therefore, it was decided to start the work at other places including Vidyapeeth Chowk only after the new guardian minister of Pune.

Some suggestions have been made to reduce the dilemma. In order to reduce traffic congestion, use less space for metro barricading, open the road by removing barricading from the place where the work is completed,   shorten the pedestrian path and cycle path on Ganesh Khind road, properly fill potholes on the road, immediately remove the water taps that are obstructing the work. ,  Pune While going from Central Mall to Shivajinagar, right turn will be prohibited, U-turn will be allowed under flyover at Agriculture College, all these instructions are included.
