In Uttar Pradesh, the political atmosphere has started heating up regarding the local body MLC elections. Meanwhile, the grandson of former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar and currently on a Samajwadi Party ticket, the local body MLC joined the BJP. On Wednesday, he formally joined the BJP.
SP’s selfish party
Earlier, in an interview given to NBT Online, Ravi Shankar Singh “Pappu” told that his uncle Neeraj Shekhar was trying to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from the Samajwadi Party. He was elected MP from Samajwadi Party ticket earlier also but, Samajwadi Party did not give him ticket in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. That’s when he had made up his mind that he would no longer be in the SP. MLC Pappu said that Samajwadi Party is a party based on selfish interests. In response to a question, MLC Pappu said that he has joined the country’s largest party. Whatever the guidelines of the party, they will follow it. If the party gives ticket in the local body MLC elections, then he will also contest the elections. He also told that till now he has not spoken to the BJP leadership regarding the MLC election ticket.
Claim to become MLC unopposed
Talking further to NBT, MLC Ravi Shankar Singh Pappu said that in the 2016 local body elections, he had won the highest number of votes in the entire state. If BJP gives him a ticket this time in the MLC elections, then he has full hope that he will be elected unopposed. Let us tell you that Ravi Shankar Singh Pappu is the grandson of former Prime Minister Chandrashekhar and presently BJP Rajya Sabha MP Neeraj Shekhar is his uncle.
