MLAs ordered to reach Mumbai by June 18
To avoid defeat in the Legislative Council elections, the constituents of the Mahavikas Aghadi government have again called their MLAs to hotels. State Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, while talking to reporters in Pune on Thursday, said that all the parties of the coalition party (Shiv Sena, NCP and Congress) have asked the MLAs to reach Mumbai before June 18. On the setback in the Rajya Sabha elections, Deputy Chief Minister Pawar said that BJP’s third candidate Dhananjay Mahadik won due to second preference votes.
He said that in the first round the Shiv Sena candidate got 33 votes while the BJP candidate got 27 votes, but in the second round Mahadik went ahead. He further said that now we are taking all precautions in the Legislative Council elections. All the MLAs have been asked to reach Mumbai by June 18.
BJP took a jibe at changing the hotel
BJP took a jibe at Shiv Sena for changing hotel and area for MLAs to stay. Talking to reporters on Thursday, BJP leader Ashish Shelar said that changing the hotel will not give victory.
