Aurangabad: Maharashtra’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city will become the arena of political power show in the state on Sunday. On the one hand, the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) will organize a rally here, while on the other, the ruling BJP will take out ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’. These political programs in the largest city of Marathwada region are taking place after violence and arson a few days back. Tight security arrangements have been made to ensure that both the events are held without any untoward incident, a top police officer said.

On Wednesday-Thursday, rioting and arson took place at Kiradpura in the city in the midst of Ram Navami, in which one person was killed and several police personnel were injured. Several properties were damaged and several vehicles were set on fire in the riots.

He will attend the rally of MVA

The MVA rally will be held on Sunday evening at the Marathwada Sanskriti Mandal Maidan, with party president Uddhav Thackeray representing the alliance partner Shiv Sena (Uddhav Bal Thackeray), Ajit Pawar from the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and state unit chief Nana Patole from the Congress. Will be included.

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Bal Thackeray) leader Subhash Desai said after inspecting the rally venue on Saturday, ‘All preparations for the rally have been completed. The ground will be packed with supporters to its full capacity and we have made arrangements for people outside the ground to listen to the speech as well.

He said that there is peace in the city now and the earlier (violent) incident will not affect the rally. Desai said five to six such rallies would be organized across the state.

BJP will take out Savarkar Gaurav Yatra

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena’s (Uddhav Bal Thackeray) Legislative Councilor (MLC) Ambadas Danve has appealed to the party functionaries to participate in the rally with restraint and calm and feared that there might be an attempt to create enmity among the communities.

The BJP’s ‘Savarkar Gaurav Yatra’, on the other hand, will start from the Chowk named after late Hindutva ideologue Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, which is just a kilometer away from the venue of the MVA rally.

300 policemen will be deployed

A BJP functionary said that the march is being taken out to honor Savarkar and against the continuous attacks on him by Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi and it will pass through three assembly constituencies of the city and end at Ahilyabai Holkar Chowk.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Deepak Girhe said, ‘The route and place of both the programs are different. We will deploy around 300 police personnel to conduct both the programs smoothly.
