Maharashtra Politics: BJP’s Dahi-Handi in Aaditya Thackeray’s stronghold, festival check-box for BMC elections!

Mumbai: Two years after the Corona epidemic, there is a lot of enthusiasm about celebrating Dahi-Handi in Mumbai and the adjoining suburbs. At the same time, a game of check-box has started in the political parties regarding the festival. Elections are going to be held in the next few months in many municipalities of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. In view of this, the leaders of every party want to capitalize on this opportunity. This festival has been celebrated on a large scale by Sankalp Pratishthan, an organization of Shiv Sena leader Sachin Ahir, at Jamboree Maidan in Worli. But, this time this ground has already been booked by BJP.

Due to this, now Ahir will have to organize at another place. Yuva Sena President Aaditya Thackeray is the MLA from this area. This time the festival will be organized by BJP at Jamboree Maidan. In this, Govinda Pathaks will also be honored.

In view of the BMC elections, the leaders have cooperated a lot in the event. According to the organisers, MLAs and former corporators have helped with everything from T-shirts to other items. Due to this, the names of leaders can be seen on the festival from T-shirts to banners.

‘Everyone knows who is the real Chief Minister’
Shiv Sena youth leader Aaditya Thackeray launched a scathing attack on the Shinde government on the first day of the monsoon session. He said that everyone knows who the ‘real Chief Minister’ is. He took a dig even though there was no woman minister in the government. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expanded his cabinet last week. Nine MLAs each from Shinde faction and BJP were included in the cabinet. No woman or independent MLA has been given a place in the cabinet, while their strength in the assembly is 20. Even 14-15 MLAs who first supported him when he rebelled against the Shiv Sena leadership in June have not found a place in the cabinet.

No place for independent MLAs
Aditya said that there is no place for loyalty. Independent MLAs have not found any place. Neither women nor Mumbai have got any place in the cabinet. The status of the MLAs who have got a place in the cabinet has been reduced. He was referring to the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs who have got portfolios considered less important. On 40 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs, Junior Thackeray said that he stabbed a kind person in the back. The doors are open for those who want to come back, but those who want to stay there should resign as MLAs. Targeting the rebel leaders, termed them ‘traitors’.
