Maharashtra: Opposition’s slogan on the first day of the monsoon session…50 kiosks, absolutely OK, MVA’s protest against the government

Mumbai: The monsoon session of the Maharashtra Legislature began with sloganeering on Wednesday. The MLAs of the opposition parties sitting on the steps of the Vidhan Bhavan raised slogans against the government. He welcomed the ministers and MLAs of the Shinde faction with the slogan ’50 kiosks, absolutely OK’. In the first day’s proceedings, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde in the Legislative Assembly and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the Legislative Council presented a felicitation motion on Draupadi Murmu’s election as the President and Jagdeep Dhankhar as the Vice President. This is the first session of the Shinde-Fadnavis government. It was expected that the opposition would create a ruckus.

The MLAs of Maha Vikas Aghadi, led by Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Ajit Pawar and Leader of Opposition in the Legislative Council, Ambadas Danve, demonstrated against the government and raised slogans while sitting on the steps of the Legislature. The members of the opposition party were shouting slogans of ED Sarkar Hi-Hi, Aa Gaye. On reaching the assembly, the MLAs of the opposition welcomed the MLAs and ministers of Shinde faction to the house by raising slogans of ‘Aale re aale, gaddar aale’. The opposition was claiming the Shinde-led government to be unconstitutional.
