According to the release, MSRTC operates more than 15,000 buses in which more than 50 lakh people travel daily. Now it is giving 33 per cent to 100 per cent concession in fare to various social groups. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, the Maharashtra government had announced 100 per cent concession in fares to senior citizens above the age of 75 years and 50 per cent concession to passengers in the age group of 65 to 74 years.
