After the party office, now the sofa has also been snatched, the last facility of the former councilors in BMC is also over, the commissioner’s new order

Mumbai: BMC commissioner I.S. Chahal has taken a tough stand towards the former corporators. After sealing party offices, banning the entry of PAs and supporters, Chahal has also got sofas, benches and chairs outside party offices removed. Now there is no place left in BMC for former corporators to sit. Now if the former corporators have to come to BMC for some work, then they will have to work while standing. After the change of power in the state, there is a continuous tussle between Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Uddhav Thackeray faction over the occupation of Shiv Sena office. In the same sequence, on December 28, there was a face-to-face confrontation between the Shinde faction and the Thackeray faction over the occupation of the Shiv Sena office in BMC, which could be pacified after the intervention of the police.

After this incident, taking a big decision, Chahal has sealed the offices of all political parties in BMC. The offices of BJP, Congress, NCP, SP and Shiv Sena located in BMC were sealed by pasting notices. It has been said in the notice that as per the order of the administrator, the office is being temporarily sealed immediately. After the party office was sealed, leaders of all political parties demanded Commissioner Chahal to open the party office, but Chahal did not agree. Since then, former corporators used to sit outside the party offices on sofas, benches and chairs and send their demands to the officers’ offices through their office staff.

Shiv Sena office got to Shinde faction
Even after the Shiv Sena office was sealed, leaders of the Uddhav Thackeray faction used to come everyday and sit on the sofa outside the office and share their statements with the media. In this, many former corporators from former mayors were involved, who used to come and sit in the BMC office every day. At the same time, no leader of the Shinde faction came to the office after the controversy. While during this time the Central Election Commission gave the Shiv Sena and the election symbol Dhanush-Ban to Shinde. The Shinde faction also got the Shiv Sena office there before the Legislature session began.

But the Shinde faction did not succeed in capturing the Shiv Sena office at the BMC headquarters, while the leaders of the Thackeray faction remained frozen. BMC sources say that leaders of the Shinde faction complained to Commissioner Chahal in this regard. After this, Chahal took a tough stand and also got the sofas, benches and chairs kept outside the offices for sitting outside removed.
