The Aam Aadmi Party, which once talked about building a university instead of a temple at Shri Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya, is using Hindutva and nationalism as political weapons to challenge the BJP in UP. Yes, Aam Aadmi Party is going to take out tricolor yatra in Ayodhya today. The party claims that it will expose the ‘fake nationalism’ of the BJP. Along with this, the party is also entering the election season of UP.
A day before AAP’s tricolor yatra in Ayodhya, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia reached Hanuman Garhi and had darshan of Ram Lalla. During this, Sisodia spoke to our associate newspaper Times of India on the importance of Ayodhya in UP politics and how his party is expecting charisma in the 2022 assembly elections.
Why Tiranga Yatra in Ayodhya?
On the importance of tricolor yatra in the birthplace of Lord Ram, Sisodia said that we are doing tricolor yatras across the state. This is my third visit. Ayodhya is important because of Ram Mandir and Hanuman Garhi. It has its own importance in Indian history. He said that the worship of Lord Ram and the tricolor yatra will make our work more sacred.
All parties in Ram’s court
When the Deputy CM was asked that AAP has been facing allegations of surrounding other parties regarding Hindutva. How should one see AAP’s Ayodhya Yatra at a time when other political parties are reaching Ramnagari? Sisodia said that Ram belongs to everyone. Everyone should come to Ayodhya. Ram Rajya is synonymous with good governance. If someone is coming to Ayodhya to do politics on Ram then it is a different matter but Ram Rajya is the best form of government. Ram is God, we should take inspiration from him. Those who do politics on Ram, we should ask those people why the journalist who reveals that he gives salt and roti in the mid-day meal is in jail? Why did the Hathras rape case happen? Ram is just a symbol for them, not an inspiration.
what to expect in 2022
What is AAP expecting in 2022 without any political alliance? Sisodia said that every party is new at some point of time. We formed the government thrice in Delhi but at some point we were also new to the city. People have seen all political parties and now they are seeing a new type of politics. In Delhi, we do not have the resources and rights like the UP government, yet we are giving people cheap electricity, good schools, clean water etc. People are seeing good governance now.
How to solve caste equation?
UP politics revolves around the equation of caste and community. Will AAP be able to come in a strong position in such an environment? Sisodia said that when there is no good governance, caste becomes important. People think that when all parties are same, have same policies, same corruption, then they see the alternative of caste and community. If there is an alternative like AAP, which people have seen in Delhi, then they will realize that they can get better health and good education. Affordable electricity, water and better infrastructure can be found and then caste and community have no role.
