Instead of night safari in Greater Noida, preparations are on to build an entertainment park, know what is the complete plan
Greater Noida: Planning has now started afresh on about 357 acres of green belt landuse lying vacant in the city. Before 2017, a world class night safari was planned on this land and a proposal was also made. Later, no exercise could move forward in this direction. Now the preparation of the Authority is to develop a destination connected with entertainment and travel on this land. The Authority will soon issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) to find out which could be the most useful project along with the DPR. After the review, Authority’s CEO Ritu Maheshwari has given instructions to the officers to issue the RFP.

This big project has been discussed and reviewed in the Greno Authority after a long time. In 2019, the authority had last held a meeting regarding this land. At that time the authorities had not taken any decision. The landuse of this land is Recreational Green. Because of this it cannot be used in any construction work. If any entertainment and sightseeing place is developed on this vacant land, then it will be the center of attraction for the entire Delhi-NCR.

The project will be on PPP model

Whatever project will come up on the vacant land, the Greno Authority will not invest any money in it. The agency will be selected on PPP model. The agency will be responsible for the development and operation as well as maintenance of the project. The authority will decide the facilities available to the general public, ticket on entry and other standards. Along with this, monitoring will also be done.

Four groups have given proposal to Noida-Greno Authority

In preparation for the Global Investors Summit, authority officials had done roadshows in many cities of the country along with Australia, Singapore. Some groups had also come in these roadshows who had proposed to build an entertainment park. Four such groups are in touch with the Noida-Greno Authority. These are big groups and are also considered capable of getting the project off the ground. Authority officials say that whatever project is ready, it will be tendered.

First night safari was planned

A plan was made to make the country’s first night safari in Greno. For this, about 250 acres of land was identified near Murshadpur, adjacent to GBU, on the banks of the Yamuna Expressway. There was a plan to spend about Rs 700 crore on this. Bird park, water body, club, culture village, entertainment zone etc. were to be developed in this night safari. Later this project was shelved.
