Madhya Pradesh government Chief Minister Residential Land Rights Scheme Guidelines have been issued for Under the scheme, the state government will provide free plots to the families who do not have a plot of land. On Thursday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, while describing it as a historic decision of the state government, said that under the scheme, the state government has issued guidelines for allotment of plots on populated land in rural areas.

The Chief Minister has said that the government will provide free plots to such houses in which more than one family lives. Under the scheme family means husband, wife and children. If they do not have any land to live in, the state government will give them a lease. This will also open the way for the construction of houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and the benefits of other schemes will also be available.

Shivraj said that this scheme has been implemented with the objective of ensuring that every family has the right to live with dignity with minimum basic necessities. On getting the residential plot, it will help in getting loans from government schemes and banks. The District Collector has been empowered with respect to the availability of abadi land in the scheme. The maximum area of ​​the plot for allotment will be 60 sqm. Only those applicant families will be eligible to apply who are residents of the respective village. To get residential plot, one has to apply online through SAARA portal.

The village wise list of eligible families under the scheme will be published for the purpose of inviting objections and suggestions from the concerned villagers, the time period of which will be at least ten days. Information, Chaupal, Gudi, Chavadi etc. will be put up in public places and Gram Panchayat offices. Applicants will be given land ownership rights in the joint names of husband and wife on the basis of availability. No premium will have to be paid for allotment of plot.

The guidelines also clarified which families would not be entitled to get a plot under the scheme. Families who have housing to live independently, land more than 5 acres, families who are not eligible to get ration from Public Distribution System (PDS) shop, if any member of the family is income tax payer or Govt. in service, those persons will not be eligible under the scheme.
