State Government Gift; Diwali bonus announced for BMC, BEST employees, teachers and health workers

Diwali Bonus : Diwali bonus has been announced for bmc employee, municipal teacher, BEST employee. 22 thousand 500 rupees will be given to all these employees and one salary to health workers as Diwali bonus. State Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced this on Thursday.  

A meeting was held at the Sahyadri State Guest House under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister regarding the bonus of Class IV employees of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation as well as teaching and non-teaching staff of aided schools. Diwali bonus of employees was decided in this meeting. Due to this decision of the state government, 93 thousand employees of Mumbai Municipal Corporation and 29 thousand employees of BEST, along with teachers, health workers will get Diwali bonus. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said that spending on development work should be done but those who do good work should be encouraged. Celebrate Diwali with joy. But everyone should work wholeheartedly for Mumbaikars.

In today’s meeting, MP Rahul Shewale, Commissioner and Administrator of Mumbai Municipal Corporation Dr. i. S. Chahal, Additional Commissioner Ashwini Bhide, former MLA Kiran Pavaskar,  officers of various employee unions in the municipality and also Sandeep Deshpande, Shashank Rao, Santosh Dhuri, Uttam Gade, Ashok Jadhav and other officials of various departments of the municipality were present.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, the municipal employees have done a good job in the difficult situation of Kovid. Doctors, all staff have played a vital role in keeping the Covid situation in Mumbai under control. Development work must be spent. But those who do well should be encouraged. A balance has to be maintained between the development work and the welfare schemes of our employees. Employees and citizens are ours.’ 

While announcing the Diwali bonus, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said, celebrate Diwali with joy. Obstacles related to development works and employees related to Mumbai Municipal Corporation will be resolved on priority basis. Everyone should now work wholeheartedly for Mumbaikars. Everyone from the engineers should take care to ensure that the works of roads and infrastructure are of high quality as per the wishes of the citizens. 

In the meeting, there was also a discussion about providing houses under the scheme ‘Shramsaflya’ and ‘Shelter’ for fourth class employees. The Chief Minister also directed to hold a separate coordination meeting to make such houses available in large numbers by taking various development agencies along with them.
