Increased distance for ticket booking through UTS app

Many passengers book tickets in UTS mobile app for booking railway tickets. People prefer to book their tickets online rather than standing in long queues at the railway ticket counter. UTS mobile app is used for this. However, this app also had some limitations. Due to this, most of the time passengers faced obstacles while booking tickets. Meanwhile, to avoid inconvenience to the passengers, Railways has relaxed the distance restrictions in the UTS app and increased the distance limit. The public relations department of Central Railway has given this information by issuing a press release.

Book tickets now up to 5 km

Recently after Corona UTS app has been fully launched. The local service was closed during the corona period. Along with that, the UTS app also closes. After that, railways started this app in a phased manner. There are some restrictions for booking tickets in UTS app. According to this, you can book train tickets only from a certain distance. But due to these restrictions, railway passengers were facing many difficulties in booking tickets.

There was a limit of two km for taking suburban local tickets. Whereas there was a limit of five km for non-suburban local ticketing. But now millions of railway passengers have got relief as the railways have relaxed these restrictions.

Central Railway’s revenue of 193 crores from tickets 

Central Railway has earned Rs 193.62 crore from ticket inspection in the seven months of April-October. Interestingly, seven ticket checking staff have recovered more than 90 lakhs each. Central Railway conducts thorough ticket checking in suburban, mail express, passenger services and special trains to curb ticketless and irregular travel.  Senior officials are keeping a close eye on revenue generated by ticketless travel and other such irregularities.
