Mumbai Covid Center Scam : 100 Crores Covid Scam Case; Two arrested by Mumbai police, Thackeray group on target?

Mumbai Covid Center Scam :  Two people have been arrested today in the Kovid center scam case by former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya. This action has been taken on behalf of Financial Crimes Investigation Department of Mumbai Police. Somaiya had lodged a complaint in this matter at Azad Maidan police station. It is under investigation. The names of the accused are Rajeev Salunke and Sunil Kadam. Somayya had accused Shiv Sena Thackeray’s chief office bearers in this scam case. 

BJP leader Kirit Somaiya filed a complaint in Azad Maidan police station in this case alleging scam. After that, the police registered a case and started investigation. The Financial Offenses Wing of the Mumbai Police and the ED are investigating the matter. Somaiya alleged that this scam took place during the Mahavikas Aghadi government and that the contract was given to this company at the behest of Sanjay Raut under the pressure of the then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.

At Azad Maidan Police Station on 24/8/2022 Dr. Kirit Somaiya filed FIR no. 756 was filed.

Accused Rajeev Nandkumar Salunkhe owns a tea shop near Paral Hospital. Sunil Kadam was arrested along with him. Both were arrested under sections 420, 406, 465, 467, 468, 471, 304(A) of the Indian Penal Code. Both the accused were produced in the court today. The court remanded both the accused to police custody till March 6, 2023. The police informed that the accused have been arrested after investigating the case and after prima facie evidence. 

Sunil Kadam and Rajeev Salunke were running Lifeline Hospital Management Services. BJP leader Kirit Somaiya had alleged that there was a scam in the Kovid center and medical equipment purchase contract during the Corona period. Somaiya had alleged that Sanjay Raut’s close associate Sujit Patkar was also involved in this scam.
