Mumbai: The red storm of Kisan Long March, coming towards Mumbai to get fair price for agricultural produce and to solve the problems of the labourers, has finally come to an end. The long march of farmers had reached Shahapur in Thane district. This long march would have hit Mumbai in the next few hours. However, it was decided to postpone the long march as earlier the state government and the farmers’ delegation held discussions and reached a solution. Farmer leader JP Gavit said that the state government has accepted 70 percent of our demands. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has also given such information in the assembly. The farmer leader told that we are postponing the movement.

The group of farmers had started five days ago

This long march of Kisan Sabha started from Dindori in Nashik towards Mumbai. After walking for five days, this batch of laborers and farmers had reached Shahapur. In the next few hours, this long march was about to reach Vidhan Bhawan. However, before this the meeting between the government and the farmers’ delegation was successful. Therefore it was decided to postpone the Long March. Now a special train has been arranged for all these farmers to return home.

Farmer leader JP Gavit told in the press conference that the state government has accepted 70 percent of their demands. Different demands were made such as fixing minimum support of Rs 2,000 for onion on the basis of production cost and announcing subsidy of Rs 500 to 600 for red onion, approving ineligible claims of Van Bhoomi, Devasthan and Garan Bhoomi. . The government was in constant contact with the protesters from Nashik as well, talks were going on from both the sides. However, there was no solution in the last five days.

Gavit told that finally today’s meeting was successful. We had made a total of 17 demands, some of which were discussed positively. Some demands will be implemented after one month. Some demands are related to the Central Government and will be sent to the Central Government. JP said that it has been decided to form a committee to take these demands forward.
