Jayant Patil is accused of malpractices related to IL&FS company. In the same case, MNS president Raj Thackeray was also served a notice a few years ago. A case was first registered in this case by the Economic Offenses Wing of Delhi and after that the ED took over the case in view of the financial scope of the crime.
What is the charge against Jayant Patil?
– During the period from 2008 to 2014, the contract for road construction was given to the concerned company. The subcontractor is alleged to have paid money to companies associated with Jayant Patil.
– Jayant Patil was the home minister of the state at the time the money was paid.
What is the work of IL&FS Company? Does it?
– IL&FS company has a debt of 91 thousand crore rupees. They have no money as many projects are incomplete.
– 17 thousand crores from the government is stuck. The company has a total of more than 250 subsidiaries and joint ventures.
– Cost of projects increased due to overcompensation in land disputes. Many important mutual funds and pension schemes are in limbo.
– Vijay Mallya’s Kingfisher company was in dire straits. Many more planes were lying down due to lack of fuel or other reasons than they had in the air. However, the seriousness of the situation was not realized or allowed to be realized.

Demonstrations by NCP workers
After the second summon issued by ED, NCP state president Jayant Patil finally faced ED inquiry today.
