Happily ready… Know what Amarinder Singh said on the question of making Maharashtra Governor in place of Koshyari
Chandigarh: Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit on Wednesday termed illegal drugs as a major concern for Punjab. His statement came a day after former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said that he has time and again raised the issue of arms and drugs being transported from Pakistan through drones and the serious implications arising out of it. The Governor said that drugs have reached the schools. He told Bhagwant Mann Sarkar that if he needed help from the Center to stop this evil, he should seek help from the Center.

When asked about the governor’s remarks, senior BJP leader Amarinder Singh said, “When I was the chief minister, I used to say that one drone comes every three days, but nowadays there are three drones (from across the border) every day.” They drop weapons, fake notes and drugs and this is not a good situation.

Information was also given to the PM and the Home Minister while he was the CM.

Singh had joined the BJP in September 2021, a few months after stepping down from the chief minister’s post against his wishes. He said that during his tenure as the Chief Minister, he had brought this matter to the notice of the Prime Minister and the Home Minister and said that we will have to deal with it strictly.

When asked about the news that he might replace Bhagat Singh Koshyari, the governor of Maharashtra, he said, “I don’t have any such information.” No one has contacted me, I do not know anything about this.

This answer was given on the question of being sent in place of Bhagat Koshyari

Amarinder said, ‘It is only through the media that I am getting to know such things. First you (media) sent me to five places including Himachal, Bihar… Second, I have made it very clear to the Prime Minister that I am ready to do whatever he thinks is right. Wherever he wants to send me in whatever form (post), I am happily ready to go there.
