Pune News Update : Good news for rickshaw pullers in Pune. The Pune Municipal Corporation is going to give a subsidy of 25 thousand rupees to convert rickshaws into e-rickshaws in Pune. Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar has given information about this. A campaign is being carried out by the municipality to encourage the use of electric vehicles in the city of Pune. This grant will be given under that.
It costs up to 75 thousand rupees to convert a rickshaw into an e-rickshaw. Out of this, 25 thousand rupees will be given by the Pune Municipal Corporation. The remaining 60 percent amount will have to be spent by the vehicle owner. Apart from this, the municipality will also set up charging stations at various places in the city for charging these e-rickshaws.
Pollution is increasing due to petrol, diesel in Pune city. Moreover, fuel prices have also gone out of reach. Against this background, this activity will be implemented in Pune as per the electric vehicle promotion program of the state government. This will be a big deal for the rickshaw drivers as they will get a subsidy of 25 thousand rupees from the municipal corporation.
