Mumbai : Preparations for Ganesh Visarjan have been completed and police and administration are ready in major places of the state including Mumbai. 15,500 police personnel have been deployed in Mumbai and tight security has been maintained in other parts of the state. After two years, Ganesh Visarjan will be held for the first time and considering the possibility of huge crowd, the police has deployed heavy security. A thousand police and SRPF units will be deployed. A team of Rapid Action Force and a special team of Force One will also be deployed. 600 women police personnel will be deployed in plain clothes at important immersion sites of Mumbai, while special police force will be deployed at 77 important immersion sites and artificial lakes in Mumbai. Crime branch and ATS officers are also on special alert on the day of immersion.
Systems ready in Nagpur
Administration and police systems are ready in Nagpur for Ganrayala immersion. Immersion in various lakes like Futala, Sonegaon, Sakkardara, Friday in the city is prohibited. Therefore, the Nagpur Municipal Corporation has prepared 390 artificial ponds (tanks) at various places for water discharge. The idol of Bappa up to four feet can be immersed in an artificial lake. The immersion of the idol larger than four feet will be done at Koradi this year. Nagpur Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar has informed that special arrangements have been made in Koradi Lake for this purpose. There are approximately nine and a half hundred public Ganesh Mandals in Nagpur and about six and a half hundred Ganesh Mandals have Ganesha idols over four feet tall. All of them have been given tomorrow and the day after tomorrow for immersion and the commissioner informed that most of the mandals will be immersed tomorrow. Nagpur Police has deployed around 4 thousand police personnel to maintain security during the procession. The distance is about 20 to 25 km… So every mandal going for immersion at Koradi can go in procession for some distance from its locality to the beat of drums.. No entry on immersion route in Nashik

Only the vehicles participating in the procession will be allowed on this route.
Major roads closed for traffic in Aurangabad
Police have changed the daily traffic in Aurangabad city to facilitate the Ganesh immersion procession. According to the information given by the traffic police, on September 9, the daily traffic will be closed and the traffic will be diverted by an alternative route. The police have said that the changes in traffic will remain in place from 7 am to night till Ganesh Visarjan. The area around the immersion well and Hatlai lake has been cleaned and barracks lights have been installed around them along with CCTV cameras. The district administration has taken vigilance from the municipality to avoid any untoward incident. 180 people have been settled in this area by the district police administration.
