Financial solstice on ST employees during festive season? The corporation is embarrassed by the Shinde government’s decision

ST Mahamandal Latest Updates: Due to the decision of Shinde Fadnavis Government (Maharashtra Govt), there is a possibility of financial crisis on the ST employees in the next month of the festival. As the state government has not paid the full salary, the question has arisen in front of the corporation that how to pay the salary of the employees in the next month. It has been informed that the ST Corporation has not deposited the provident fund of 90 thousand employees since last 2 months due to lack of money.

Income of ST Corporation is Rs 450 crores per month and expenditure is Rs 650 crores per month. 310 crores per month for salary, 250 crores for diesel and 90 crores for other establishments are spent to run ST corporation. Since the ST Corporation is getting only Rs 100 crore from the government instead of Rs 360 crore, the question has arisen before the corporation from where to get the remaining Rs 200 crore.

Due to this decision of the government, there is a possibility that ST employees will come to Sankrant during the festive season.

ST employees had been on strike for almost five months for their various demands. This was a historic strike. After that, the strike was withdrawn after the then government accepted some of their demands. The Thackeray government had agreed to the other demands except the merger demand and had increased the wages of the ST employees and also announced financial assistance to the corporation. Now there are signs that the issue of wages will arise again during the Shinde government.

On the other hand  During the strike of ST employees, the ST Corporation (ST Mahamandal) had appointed 800 employees on contract basis. Those contracts have also been terminated.   Now that the requirement is over, the ST Corporation has decided that the contract will not be renewed. So the time has come for these 800 employees to become unemployed. Meanwhile, some leaders have requested Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis not to fire these 800 employees.
