Abhay Deshpande Shinde vs Thackeray: How will Election Commission decide on Shiv Sena’s symbol?

Maharashtra Politics Supreme Court: Justice. The hearing of the power struggle in Maharashtra has started before the five member constitution bench headed by Chandrachud. The Shinde group has approached the Supreme Court to lift the stay of the Election Commission on hearing the Shiv Sena on this issue. So, the Shiv Sena had demanded that the Election Commission should not take action unless the verdict is given in the Supreme Court. The hearing in the power struggle in Maharashtra is going on before the Constitution Bench. The hearing will now be held after lunch break. A decision is likely to be taken today whether the Election Commission should approve the action regarding the election symbol. After the hearing before the Constitutional Court, Shinde group’s lawyer Adv. Kaul said that the Election Commission has the right to hear about Shiv Sena’s election symbol and the Supreme Court has not prohibited it. So, Shiv Sena’s lawyer Adv. Kapil Sibal demanded that after hearing the entire case, the Election Commission should be given the right to conduct the hearing.
