Two other persons were sent home after first aid. The collector said that one of the missing persons, which was received by the administration, has not been traced so far and they are being searched inside the stepwell.

Kantibhai Patel, president of the Patel Nagar Residents Union, expressed displeasure over the fact that even after being informed about the accident, the ambulance did not reach the spot for an hour.

Indore District Magistrate Dr. T. Ilaiyaraaja told on Thursday that rescue operation was started with the help of SDRF soon after the accident. Around 20 people were rescued. The District Magistrate said that the administration will identify such public places where such accidents are likely to happen.
