RPN Singh was the president of Youth Congress UP from 1997 to 1999. He was MLA from Kushinagar’s Padrauna assembly seat from 1997 to 2009. In the 15th Lok Sabha, Congress gave him a ticket from Kushinagar and he became an MP. RPN Singh has also been the Union Minister of State for Home in the Congress government.
