This particular chemical has been found to be effective in slowing the growth of lung, prostate and breast cancer cells. Use turmeric as a spice for its color and flavor as well as its cancer-fighting benefits.


There is a plant compound called sulforaphane which is present in cruciferous vegetables like broccoli which has cancer fighting abilities. Some studies have also shown that broccoli can also be linked to a reduced risk of colorectal cancer. Therefore, you must include broccoli in your diet throughout the week for its cancer fighting benefits.


Various studies have suggested that carrots may help prevent and reduce the risk of several types of cancer. An analysis of about five studies came to the conclusion that carrots can reduce the risk of stomach ulcers by about 26%. You should try to include carrots as a healthy snack or a component of your meals to reduce the risk of cancer.


Small legumes like peas, lentils and beans are highly nutritious and do wonders for your health. Also, they contain phytochemicals such as phytic acid and saponins that can inhibit the reproduction of cancer cells. Therefore, include a variety of legumes in your diet to reduce the risk of stomach and colon cancer.
