Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this Poshan Abhiyan on March 8, 2018. It is also known as National Nutrition Mission. This year the government aims to focus on women’s health, child and education. The theme of National Nutrition Month 2022 is ‘Mahila aur Swastya’, ‘Bacha aur Shiksha’.

The health of the aging women is very important. But Indian women pay very little attention to their health. As a mother, wife and daughter, they always think about the health of others and neglect their own health. After reaching the age of 40, many health problems appear in women. Aging begins to take its toll on physical health. 10  A dietician of Apollo Hospital said that 7 out of 10 women come to them with problems like headache, sleeplessness, fatigue and hair loss.

Problems that occur in women after forty years

Women enter perimenopause after the age of 40. During this time there is a huge change in the hormone level in the body. Due to this, they suffer from problems like anxiety and depression. After the age of 40, women are prone to problems related to ovarian and bone health. Women also have a higher risk of stroke, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. Women are also more prone to rheumatoid arthritis, an autoimmune condition, at this age. Apart from these, problems in the bladder, kidney stones, urinary tract infections, osteoarthritis, high blood pressure are also likely to be faced. should be All nutrients should be consumed in a balanced diet. Not only this, there is a lot of need for physical activity and exercise. Because along with protein, exercise also helps to strengthen muscles. Helps in overcoming fatigue. Women get busy and stop eating on time. Doing so is very dangerous for health. Nutritionists say that the body needs 2200 to 2500 calories. Body weight plays an important role in bodily functions. Eating late can lead to gas problems, while eating too much can lead to weight gain. That is why experts suggest that it is very important to have a balanced and timely diet.

Aim of Nutrition Month

Government aims to create awareness at panchayat level. "Poshan Panchayat Committees work with field level activists to help deliver services through Anganwadi Centers (AWC), Village Health, Nutrition Day and other relevant platforms. Health camps will be conducted in AWCs specially for anemia screening.

Programs called ‘Amma Ki Rasoi’ will be conducted to focus on traditional foods for maternal and child health in tribal areas. Apart from this, “Grandma’s kitchen” is used to show the importance of traditional nutritious dishes. Enhancing activities like.
