When dry cough bothers you, follow these tips from Ayurveda

In recent times many people are affected by viral infections. Due to this, the number of people suffering from fever, dry cough and cold is increasing.  Ayurveda gives easy tips when dry cough is bothering you a lot. The cough usually subsides within 5 to a week. Otherwise, if it continues for four to six weeks, it should be interpreted as chronic cough. That means it is a chronic disease. Common cough medicines do not relieve this chronic cough. So Ayurveda gives some tips to reduce this cough. It can also be caused by pollution and poor air quality. It weakens our immune system.

Ginger Tea 
Ginger has high anti-inflammatory properties. Boil ginger root in water to relieve dry cough and chronic cough. Strain the tea and put it in a glass. Mix one spoon of honey before drinking. Drinking this tea two to three times a day will reduce cough. Honey has natural cough suppressant properties. 

Yelk milk 
Yelk is high in anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.  So this is an easy way to get rid of chronic cough. Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder in warm milk and drink it before going to sleep. This is called ‘Golden Milk’ Also known as.

Garlic 
Garlic has great cough suppressant properties. Add a clove of garlic to the milk and boil it. A pinch of turmeric should also be added to it. Drink this drink warm. It is the perfect treatment for dry cough. Drinking it after cooling down will not help.

Tulsi Tea 
Holy Tulsi has anti-tussive properties. It helps in reducing dry cough. Boil basil leaves in water for few minutes. Strain the tea and drink it with a tablespoon of honey. If you drink this tea two or three times a day, it is very beneficial.   Gargling with salt in warm water can reduce sore throat. The water should be spit out without drinking it.

Licorice root 
Licorice plant root is preferred in Ayurveda. This licorice root powder is used to relieve cough. It is good if you soak this licorice root in water for a few minutes and then strain it and drink it. Or drink warm water with licorice root powder two or three times a day to get rid of dry cough. But pregnant women and people with high blood pressure should not take this root.
