Hyderabad 2022 : First gynecology procedure performed by Medtronic Hugo™ robotic surgery in Hyderabad


Hyderabad 2022 : On behalf of Care Hospitals Group in Hyderabad today  Hugo™ Asia-Pacific has announced the first gynecology (hysterectomy) procedure using the Robotic-Assisted Surgery (RAS) system. India Medtronic Private Limited, an asset of Care Hospitals TPG Growth Managed Evercare Fund and a wholly owned subsidiary of Medtronic plc (NYSE: MDT), has initiated the process. Telangana State Finance, Health, Medical and Family Welfare Minister T Harish Rao was present on the occasion.  

At the group’s flagship facility at Banjara Hills, Dr. This milestone procedure was performed by the expert clinical team of CARE Hospitals under the leadership of Manjula Angani. Here is a 46-year-old woman with a long history of adenomyosis. Which makes her uterus thick and big. This woman underwent her first hysterectomy using the HugoTM RAS system. The woman underwent a robotic-assisted total hysterectomy. CARE Hospital has become the first hospital in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to install this new robotic-assisted surgery system from Medtronic.

In this regard, Telangana Finance, Health, Medical and Family Welfare Minister T. Harish Rao said, “Investment in technology enabled healthcare solutions is essential to ensure quality patient care at affordable cost. . High quality equipment such as robotic systems help improve accuracy. Reduce hospital stays, help patients recover.”

Talking about the surgery, Dr. Manjula Angani said, “Using Medtronic’s new RAS system for hysterectomy, which was APAC’s first gynecological procedure, is a testament to our dedication to providing high quality clinical care. This is a proud moment for all our teams and we look forward to using this innovative robotic system to extend the powerful benefits of minimally invasive surgery to more patients.”
