Yogi’s confidant IAS officer Renuka Kumar also sought VRS, third officer applied in a week

In UP, three IAS officers have applied for Voluntary Retirement (VRS) in a week. Renuka Kumar, a senior IAS officer of UP cadre and a confidant of CM Yogi, has also applied to the central government for VRS. He has demanded to give VRS with immediate effect. The Union Public Service Commission has informed the UP government about this.

Renuka Kumar is a 1987 batch IAS officer. She was posted as Secretary in the Minority Welfare Department at the Centre. She had gone to the center on 30 June 2021 from UP. On July 28 last month, he was suddenly relieved for UP. It is said that only after this he has applied for VRS. His retirement is in June 2023.

She has held important positions in UP. He has been considered one of the trust characters of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. There are many discussions going on behind his asking for VRS. First, he has asked for VRS due to his displeasure and secondly he can be given some big responsibility. It is also discussed that she can also enter active politics.

Before Renuka Kumar, two IAS officers of UP cadre, Juthika Patankar, IAS officer posted as Secretary in the Central Information Commission in central deputation and Vikas Gothalwal, a 2003 batch IAS officer on study leave, also applied for VRS. In UP, it was first taken in the year 2019 by the 1993 batch IAS officer Rajiv Agarwal VRS. Previously he became CEO at Uber and currently he is at Facebook.
