All is not well these days in the Tripura BJP unit. Many leaders are unhappy with the way Chief Minister Manik Saha is working. In such a situation, the BJP high command had to intervene. Discontent in the party was brewing for a long time but it came out in the open two weeks ago. In the past, Chief Minister Biplav Dev reached Delhi and he complained. Apart from him, many other leaders have also complained.
Many leaders say that Saha has sidelined the old and senior leaders. Now the responsibility of solving this dissatisfaction has been given to the general secretary of the organization, BL Santosh and in-charge of North East, Sambit Patra. Let us inform that BJP has returned to power this year by winning 32 out of 60 seats.
A party leader said, those who have been in the organization for many years and have fought a long battle with the Left are being sidelined. Along with former Chief Minister Biplav Dev and Union Minister Pratima Bhowmik, state BJP President Rajib Bhattacharya also has issues with the Chief Minister’s attitude. He said that Bhattacharya’s security was suddenly withdrawn without any information. Experts say that the administration did not help Biplav Dev regarding the health camp in the state;
Political experts say that this dissatisfaction in the party can show its effect in the 2024 elections. There is this discontent in the BJP because of the power game. The BJP was definitely successful in forming the government for the second time, but the organization is not strong here at the ground level. Therefore, this difference within the party can prove to be harmful.
