Will Sachin Pilot show his strength on the pretext of fasting? Gahlot will protest against the government today in Jaipur

Former Deputy Chief Minister of Rajasthan Sachin Pilot has opened a front against his own government before the assembly elections. Congress leaders will fast in Jaipur today for not taking action against the alleged corruption in the previous BJP government in the state. However, the party is upset with this decision.

Pilot had said in a press conference on Sunday, no action was taken (by the Gehlot government) on the corruption that happened during the previous Vasundhara Raje government. While in the opposition, we had promised that an inquiry would be conducted into the Rs 45,000 crore mining scam. He said, six-seven months are left for the elections, the opponents can spread the illusion that there is some collusion. It is unfortunate that there is no action in the matter, so action has to be taken soon so that the Congress workers feel that there is no difference between our words and actions.

Let us tell you that when Pilot was the head of the State Congress Committee, the party had raised this issue and promised to investigate the scam if voted to power in the 2018 assembly elections.

Special days for fasting: Pilot said, April 11 is the birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule. Phule belonged to the Saini community, the same community that Gehlot belongs to. On this day, I will go on a one-day fast at the Martyr’s Memorial in Jaipur.

Support of Khachariawas: Food and Civil Supplies Minister Pratap Singh Khachariawas has supported Pilot’s demand. He said he agreed with Pilot and it was the responsibility of the government to act on the issues raised by the party when it was in opposition. He said, Pilot is the heritage of the party and Rahul Gandhi has also said this. I will also talk to the Chief Minister about this and say that we should take action.

Sour relations with Gehlot

This development assumes significance in view of the elections to be held in Rajasthan this year. This could further worsen the already sour relations between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Pilot. Since December 2018, there has been a tussle between Gehlot and Pilot over the post of Chief Minister.
